Somewhere close to now is a solo work inspired by Alan Lightman’s novel, Einstein’s Dreams, which consists of 30 fables describing theoretical realms of time that Einstein could have dreamt while trying to understand the mysteries of relativity, space, and time. Each presents a world in which time behaves quite differently, inhabited by people whose lives are affected accordingly. The work was shaped through a workshop process with accomplished artists Dan Rothenberg from Pig Iron Theatre Company, OBIE Award-winning Director Whit McLaughlin from New Paradise Laboratories, NYC based choreographer Laura Peterson and co-founder of Group Motion, Brigitta Herrmann.
